MT Consulting Becomes B Corp and WBENC Certified

Three years ago, I went through a career transition that shook me to my core. I wrote about it in January 2019, in an article titled “The Controlled Burn of a Successful Career.” There, I said:

“Burning your field can quite literally
make it healthier and stronger.”
Three years later, I see so clearly how that “controlled burn” worked in my career. Three years of working with incredible clients, three years of projects I believe in, three years of truly purpose-driven work. I’m honored to have built my company as a “solopreneur,” but not without the guidance, partnership and advice of so many incredible people in my life.

I hope you’ll share in my excitement as I reflect back on these last few years and share that my company, Marcy Twete Consulting has received two important certifications – as a Certified B Corporation and a Certified Women Owned Business.

What Becoming a B Corp Means

You’ve probably seen the B Corp logo on brands like Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s and Athleta. What that beautiful “B” logo means is that a company has baked into its DNA high standards in environmental, social and governance performance.

Every day, I work with companies who want to be stronger, more responsible and more sustainable. Pursuing B Corp Certification meant holding myself accountable to those same goals – making ESG not just something I consult on or sell at MTC, but something I do every day.

I’ve also been a proud Steering Committee Member with Minnesota B Local and look forward to deepening my involvement there as a B Corp.

Why I Pursued WBENC Certification

Supplier diversity has become a cornerstone of strong companies all over the world. Working with and purchasing from diverse-owned businesses strengthens our communities and invests in economic stability for women and minorities around the world. Becoming a Certified Women Owned business through WBENC shows my clients I’m as committed to supplier diversity as they are, and they know I’ve certified my business with the strongest partner, WBENC.
